How It Works (3-Step Process)

  • 1. Prep

    • Clean the surface with a basic degreaser
    • Rinse and dry completely. Tape the drain, walls, and edges — just like painting.
    • Lightly sand the tub

  • 2. Mix & Apply

    • Mix the two eco-safe components (Part A + Part B) using the tools provided.

    Choose your method:

    • Slowly pour and let the self-leveling epoxy smooth itself out.
    • Use the included rollers to apply two thin, even coats.

    The formula bonds directly to the surface — no primer needed.

  • 3. Cure

    • Allow the coating to fully harden for 24 hours at room temperature (around 72°F).

          What can I use Ekopel on?

          Ekopel 2k is designed for use on various surfaces including bathtubs, sinks, tiles, and countertops. It can be applied to substrates such as a cast iron, steel, previously painted surfaces, ceramic and fiberglass.

          How much Ekopel is needed to recast a shower pan?

          To recast a shower pan only, our 1/2 gallon kit will be the perfect size (sold as the sink kit)

          What else do I need to recast my bathtub?

          Suggested accessories and tools for our applications include:

          • Paint Tray (For Roll-On)
          • 1 Mini Roller Frame (For Roll-on)
          • 6 Foam Rollers (Sized 4 to 6 inches) (Roll-On)
          • Foam Brush
          • Masking Tape
          • Masking Paper
          • Sandpaper (220 frit is the average recommended, depending on age/condition of tub lower frit may be needed)

          What is the best way to remove Ekopel from unwanted areas?

          If you have Ekopel in an unwanted area (like flooring) simply heat up the area with a heat gun or hair dryer and then scrape off what you can. After, use acetone to aid in further removal. If it's on your skin, acetone & soap with water can be used.

          Does Ekopel have an expiration date?

          The shelf life is 2 years. Store the product in a dry place, in a firmly close container, at the temperature 50 to 70°F. If the product gets frozen, it must be stored in a warm place for 24 hours before it can be used.
